I started my extra hours at the Y today. The new YMCA is amazing and beautiful and gargantuan...but oh god it sucked

I was helping with babysitting, which is just watching kids while their parents are doing the YMCA classes. It was a huge serge of about 200 kids at one point. Screaming- drooling- crying kids. Toddlers who didnapos;t communicate barely at all. Who donapos;t listen AT ALL. Who cry for no fathomable reason. That wear pull-ups still and smell funky. Snot all over their faces.

Listen. I definitely want kids someday, but I have no experience with ones that age now. And they want nothing to do with me. They just want their moms. Now. I like kids old enough to tell me what they need or want. Anything 5 and up is okay with me.

It was an awful few hours. I really need to find another part time or full time job fast.
