aroma cooker

Ok, so I�JUST�decided to start battling a friend of mine through wi-fi connection (or whatever it is you call it when two DS are near each other and pick up on the signal; not over the internet). The only problem is, we both canapos;t seem to figure out how to battle one another with even pokemon levels, if it is at all possible. His pokemon are roughly levels 44-61. My six are roughly 61-66. Yet, Iapos;m sure there is a way to battle to where we can alter things such as allowed levels, pokemon,�items used, etc. Initially, we thought we would have to go to Battle Tower (or in my case, Frontier). I�have platinum and he has Diamond, so after me pulling a few strands of hair out trying to decipher where I should go in Japanese, we decided on battling at a Pokecenter. We scrapped the idea of going downstairs because we get no internet signal. Upstairs, there is a battle room, but its divided into cups and NONE of the cups suit our pokemon (banned legendaries), levels (max 50), or teams (usually 3 only).

So, my question is, where do we have to go to have a six on six battle with the levels evened out and legendaries allowed? Is it possible without using the internet wi-fi? Any help is much appreciated
